Nez Denetdale is Dine of the Navajo Nation. Originally from Tohatchi, New Mexico, she earned her Ph.D. in history from Northern Arizona University in 1999. Her book for young adults, The Long Walk: The Forced Navajo Exile, was published by Chelsea House in 2008. She has also published articles in the American Indian Culture and Research Journal, the Journal of Social Archaeology, Wcazo Sa Review, and New Mexico Historical Review. She is currently working on a history of Navajo women.
